one of the last gaps in my amon full length collection. a few years back when metal blade did already re-press the band's back catalogue, i somehow missed out on "the avenger". well, not again. orange pastel marble vinyl looks classy. metal blade. 1999/2022.

kittie - spit

the second record i bought at silverspeed records, potsdam was this record store day release of kittie's debut "spit". back when it dropped in 2000, i listened a great deal to this album. to me it aged surprisingly well. would love a re-press of "oracle", too. mnrk heavy. 2022.

vision of disorder - imprint

my wife and me been to potsdam, germany two weeks back for a little vacation without the kids. of course, i looked for the local vinyl store - silverspeed records. a little cramped and stuffed but i came up with two nice finds. first was this music on vinyl pressing of vod landmark album 'imprint'. quite a steal for under twenty bucks. roadrunner records/mov. 1998/2018.

darkane - inhuman spirits

back from the dead. after nine years when their last album dropped, these swedish melo death dealers are back. maybe not as great as "insanity" or "expanding senses" but i really do enjoy this album. miss andreas sydow on vocals a bit, though. massacre records. 2022

mercyful fate - don't break the oath

wacken open air is around the corner and i'm going to see the first live shows since february 2020. mercyful fate is also on the bill and so i thought it couldn't hurt to get involved. bought this og roadrunner pressing from 1984 on discogs for a real good price. great album by the way.

knocked loose - a tear in the fabric of life

constantly evolving their hefty hardcore sound, the buzz this band's creating couldn't be more justified. this new e.p. is a beast and this second pressing on grey marble a.k.a. silver, black, white galaxy looks ace. 3.000 copies pressed. pure noise recordings. 2021/22.

waking the cadaver - authority through intimidation

this band has quite an underground reputation since they were washed up in the mid 00's. this actually my first physical copy of one of their releases. what a blast of slam death metal which is as short as it is enjoyable. unique leader records. 2021.

cathexis - untethered abyss

such a good slab of dissonant, progressive death metal from these u.s. boys. another brilliant release by willowtip records and i really like their random vinyl colour-ways. 300 copies made. 2021.

korn - requiem

amazing how the nu metal gods deliver since their return to form with "the serenity of suffering" in 2016. if you're a fan of the first four, you're bound to like "requiem", too. 500 copies as an emp merch exclusive. loma vista records. 2022.

venom prison - erebos

to me the first disappointment of the year. i can't stand the clean singing the band introduced on this album plus the songs feel pretty general. without any real lows but without any real highs as well. just not my cup of tea anymore, i guess. the presentation is nice, though. century media. 2022.

enterprise earth - the chosen

the guys went in a more commercially marketable direction with "the chosen". i can feel the big stage choruses here. it works for me, although i think the preceding album is better. might be the last album of the band i'm interested in. anyway, the presentation is quite nice. multi-colour splatter vinyl limited to 2.000 copies. eone entertainment. 2022.

unearth - III: in the eyes of fire

finally a re-press of the third unearth full length. saw them in leipzig on their tour cycle for this record back in 2007 or so. good times. love the traces of red in the grey marble vinyl. 300 copies made. metal blade. 2006/2021.
