xedenisgonex - scattering of my malice

love this band's edge metal sound. what a great throwback to the late nineties/early 00's this is. just really, really fucking awesome. period! love this pre-order version coming with a slick arkangel rip off cover. single sided e.p. on orange marble vinyl. released by bound by modern age records in 2020.

mortiferum // hyperdontia - split 7"

i actually have this split already on tape format, simply because i missed out on the pre-order for the vinyl first press. therefore a second press was much welcomed and i ordered from desiccated productions from denmark, so shipping was ok. that mortiferum song is pure gold as to where i don't really care for the hyperdontia side. love the cover art! released by me saco un ojo records (u.k.) and carbonized records (u.s.a.).

entombed - clandestine

to get a copy of this classic swedish death metal release from 1991 was long overdue. this is the latest pressing on purple vinyl. not exactly the best match for the stunning cover art by dan seagrave but nice in its own right. couldn't resist buying a longsleeve with the artwork in a bundle. 300 copies made and released through earache records.

fear factory - demanufacture

one of the band's milestone releases and i am really happy this re-press came to be, with one exception though. the price for this triple-lp was extraordinary. i mean, come on - fifty bucks?! i bought it anyway because i am weak but i feel almost violated. i hope that run-out-grooves (which belongs to roadrunner which belongs to warner) will drop prices for future re-issues, although i doubt it as long as there are enough idiots like me to unload the cash.

relics of humanity - obscuration

this release was a blind buy. the record was super cheap on amazon and is this was a willowtip release, i thought it would do no harm to check it out. it's death metal from belarus and played at the extreme end of the spectrum. worth the price of admission, for sure. released in 2019.

gojira - fortitude

the new gojira album! this band can't do no wrong to me. i love all of their records and "fortitude" is no exception. they didn't change anything about their formula but to me, they still sound fresh. i'm not too much a fan of the artwork but the vinyl colour-way is a real looker. roadrunner records. 2021.

congress - the essentials box set

man, this thing was almost two years on pre-order! can you believe it?! made available in 2019 and was finally delivered in 2021. i don't know where to put the blame, pressing plant or label, most probably both. what i know is that this is a poor customer service whatsoever. anyway, the result is super lovely. have all the original pressings but my fanboy heart just had to have it.

inferi - of sunless realms

another brilliant e.p. released by the artisan era. this time from blackened tech death stalwarts inferi. i'm happy i got this copy right from the states because the first press copies sold out in no time. this is the "plague" variant limited to 100 copies and released in 2020.

sutrah - aletheia

their debut "dunes" has become one of my all time favourite tech death releases and thus i needed this e.p. badly. for me those four songs tick all the right boxes. melodic, eerie, heavy, sophisticated - what's not to like here? limited to 100 copies on "archetype" vinyl. released in 2020 by the artisan era.

myth of i

the self-titled debut of u.s. based myth of i is a super talented and beautifully executed proggy instrumental metal album of the highest order. yeah, the similarities to animals as leaders are definitely there but they are going to perfect their own sound with future releases, i'm sure of it. check this great artwork and the nice green/white merge vinyl out of 100 copies. released in 2020 by the artisan era.

sanction - the infringement of god's plan

sanction are one of those hardcore/metal bands that revive the sound of the late nineties and early 00's. clean, slightly chaotic, mosh part induced. i really love that and this e.p. kicks ass! released in 2018 by pure noise records. this is a copy of the silver second pressing out of 800.

veil of maya - eclipse

another veil of maya re-issue that was long overdue. released in 2012, the band's fourth full length marks the last recording with original vocalist brandon butler and also the last album of the band that i care for. this first vinyl pressing looks and sounds fantastic. the vinyl colour is a prefect match for the cover aesthetics. sumerian records. 2020.
