madball are still here and are still delivering the nyhc goods. for a long time, since 'hold it down' actually, i haven't felt this excited for a new madball album. 'not your kingdom' definitely hit me by surprise. this propeller variant is limited to 500 copies and looking sharp. nuclear blast. 2026.

i killed the prom queen - beloved

i went to see i killed the prom queen play live in june this year and i was over the moon after that concert. it gave me huge early 00's metalcore vibes. to my regret i realised that i was missing prom queen's last full length 'beloved' from 2014 on any format in my collection. i hit up jpc.de and here we are with a brand new standard black vinyl copy. pretty decent comeback album. it's time for yet another one, though. epitaph records. 2014.

converge - hum of hurt

well, i was quite surprised when i learned that one of my favourite bands would release another full length in one year. 'love is not enough' is a real scorcher front to back, so i thought hell yeah, why not!? i pre-ordered via evil greed mailorder and got the exclusive 'nebula' version out of 300 copies. musically i am not 100% sold on 'hum of hurt'. i can't quite put my finger on it but it doesn't resonate with me yet. the visuals of the artwork are stunning as always. deathwish inc. 2026.

beyond creation - the aura (15th anniversary pressing)

i fancied a colour copy of the 2011 debut of this canadian tech/prog death juggernaut since i know of them. as any pressing was and is quite sought after, i missed out on every option i had in the past. thankfully almost everything gets a re-issue eventually. so, here we are. slick gold foil gatefold, double-sided poster, patch and clear with red/black dual vinyl out of 333 copies. chef's kiss! season of mist. 2026.

intronaut - prehistoricisms

i had this album on my wantlist for quite some time. since recently there was a white vinyl century media pressing from 2008 and this blue vinyl pressing by german label back bite records from 2018 (in terms of colour vinyl). last year the label 'reissued sounds' threw a bunch of new splatter vinyl pressings on the market and that seemed to lower the asking prices, at least for the back bite version. it was an offer i couldn't refuse and now i'm the proud owner of one out of 100 blue vinyl copies of 'prehistoricisms'. back bite records. 2018.
