teamkiller - some scars some hope

teamkiller's first solo 7" after their split release with bleeding into one. the band was founded 2003 in stuttgart, germany. the same year they released said split 7" on dead serious recordings. one year later saw the birth of "some scars some hope". both, band and label have called it quits by now but the legacy remains and i found a part of it on ebay recently.
it was one of that auctions i knew would end super cheap and so i got it for four bucks, shipping included. musically this is strong n.y. hardcore with loads of energy. it's nothing new but it's better than a lot of the rest out there. unfortunately i could not find any music on the internet for you to listen to. just search discogs and snag a copy for cheap.
"some scars some hope" was pressed to vinyl by cathargo records under liscense from dead serious recordings. cathargo is another defunct label from bonn, germany. they released round about ten records, among them zero mentality's "in fear of forever". the presentation is a three-fold sleeve affair which houses a nice white vinyl platter. unfortunately i couldn't find how many copies were made. carthago records. 2004.

zero mentality - demo '03

so, zero mentality had a little comeback two years ago with their 'x' 7" on let it burn records. it was a two song seven inch, so not much more than an appetiser for future deeds. well, future deeds seem to be long in coming. we will see, maybe this band simply needs more time and i'll try to be patient. quite difficult when you listen to their stuff. their demo from twelve years back is no exception.
zero mentality has a great sense for energetic hardcore with catchy melodies. even so in their early days. the hardcore part weighed a bit heavier at the time but not to their disadvantage. all of the three songs also found their way onto their first full length called 'in fear of forever'. in a re-recorded form, naturally. unfortunately i could not find any sound excerpts on the net.
this demo 7" was released by now defunct dead serious recordings from western germany. this label released some decent stuff from the early to mid 00's. mostly european vinyl versions of u.s. bands like terror or 100 demons, and some liscensed vinyl versions of european bands like cataract. for this 7" dead serious made a cool fold out sleeve and pressed the music to some nice milky clear vinyl. dead serious. 2003.

ds store: cataract, merauder, additional time

cataract - with thriumph comes loss
one of my absolute favourite records! next to heaven shall burn's antigone, xmaroonx's endorsed by hate, destiny's the tracy chapter and scars of tomorrow's rope tied to the trigger, it's one of those records that really got me into hardcore in the first place. this swiss outfit plays a metal/hardcore mix between heavy hatebreed-stuff and fast thrash parts. it was recorded at the infamous antfarm studios, denmark. tue madsen created his best sound ever on this one!
very nice vinyl edition! opaque maroon with black splatter vinyl (which was a welcome surprise, because the description at the shop said "clear" vinyl) + a lovely big fold out poster with all lyrics. dead serious recordings

merauder - master killer
great nyhc! descriptions of new band's records always refer to that album but i have to admit that i never listened to it. as i spotted the ds vinyl version at the shop i listened to a couple of songs on the internet. listening to them i wondered why i didn't do it long time before. but it's like this german saying: better late than never!
the whole presentation like of one piece! clear red vinyl. dead serious recordings

additional time - s/t 7"
it's the band of the guy who runs dead serious. they play heavy tough guy hardcore. they are not very rich in variety but i think it's a good start. i'm looking forward for further releases.
clear blue vinyl + download coupon. dead serious recordings.

madball - legacy

madball - legacy
i found this one for a good price on ebay and i'm glad to have it, even though there's a bit energy missing on the record. vinyl pressing on dead serious recordings. grey splatter vinyl with big poster insert.
