human animal / wreckage - split 7"

human animal was on my radar since their 'dark days' 7" from 2012. it really took me by surprise and their catchy but yet heavy way of hardcore was absolutely up my alley. last year they came around with a split 7" shared with additional time from germany. these songs however, were a little bit of a let down. not real bad but not as good as 'dark days'.
from that point on i was waiting for another release. preferably a full length record. well, they did come around with a new output but unfortunately not with the desired full length but with another split 7". suddenly my interest died down a little bit and i said to myself to grab a copy whenever the time was right.
2014 passed by and so did a good half of the current year and i finally stepped up and ordered this record together with the new earth crisis 7" from per koro. per koro didn't list it as coloured vinyl and that put me off first. after i checked the pressing info on discogs and realised that there was only coloured vinyl pressed for this release, i let go of all my worries.
there was one little thrilling detail to be revealed, though. the record was pressed on three colour-ways. the most limited on coke bottle clear and white and clear blue vinyl out of 200 copies each. it turned out to be the white version, which is the better one in my book. the human animal part is as good as i hoped it to be. great stuff! give us a full length, guys! the wreckage part is more of the same but solid. check it out here. head2wall records. 2014.

human animal / additional time - split

i just recently wrote about my first human animal 7", called 'dark days'. after i recieved it, it wasn't long until demons run amok announced the release of a split 7" with additional time. a band from west-germany, that features the owner of now defunct dead serious records on vocals. i posted about their first release three years ago.
i pre-ordered the record and my interest in this split was really just about the human animal part. judging from their first 7", i knew additional time's contribution would be solid but not too exciting. when i finally got my copy, i was a little bit disappointed by the human animal songs.
somehow they sound as if they had been written before 'dark days', a step back so to speak. the additional time part is just what i expected beforehand. solid hardcore at the metallic end of the spectrum. you can check the whole output at d.r.a.'s bandcamp. there are three colour-ways available through the label. clear, clear green and clear yellow, all limited to 100 copies. demons run amok. 2014.

human animal - dark days

looking back i can't really remember how i came to know about human animal. i believe it was on one of these occasions where i recieved the annual newsletter of per koro. a list of new-in-stock-items which i use to read through, always on the hunt for new vinyl platters. there is always a little description to inform the intrested reader about the musical content of each new record.
i don't know what sentence or comparison tipped me off, hell, i don't even remember if this was the way it happened at all. but, and that is for sure, i ordered a copy. it turned out not to my disadvantage. human animal plays crisp and catchy hardcore of a modern tinge. heavy and melodic at the same time. good stuff. you can check out the 'dark days' 7" in its entirety at their bandcamp.
this pennsylvania based band consists of members that played in many different bands before. brother keeper's, anchor or xdisciplex a.d. to name a few. a little supergroup, so to speak. well, not really. the record itself appeared on holy mountain. unknown to me. they pressed two colour-ways. 100 copies on coke bottle clear and 200 on this grey mix vinyl. holy mountain music. 2013.
