cruel hand - born into debt

let's start the new year off with yet another record from the vault. when i actually bought this 7" a year ago it was a new release. by now another cruel hand full length came out called 'the negatives', but 'born into debt, we all owe a death' killed it for me. i really liked their stuff up to 'lock and key', which reminds me that i need a physical copy of this album, 'vigilant citizen' was different but still cool but this 7" doesn't do anything for me.

the band went into a new direction and it's just not my cup of tea anymore. that's all. check it out for yourself here. for this release cruel hand teamed up with closed casket activities, while 'vigilant citizen' which came out the same year was released on triple-b records. 'the negatives' appeared on yet another label, hopeless records from the states.

closed casket pressed 1700 copies in total. 250 on blue with orange splatter, 500 on gold with black haze, 750 on my gold vinyl and 200 copies on black that the label actually didn't order at the pressing plant but the plant pressed accidentally. reality records from belgium did a compilation 7" with the two 'vigilant citizen' songs and the two a-side songs of this release. the b-side song is a in cold blood cover. closed casket activities. 2013.

per koro pt 2/3: cruel hand - vigilant citizen

cruel hand - vigilant citizen 7"

finally, after a long time (at least that is what it felt like to me) i'm back on track. due to some personal problems, i lost all my vinyl pictures and will have to make them all anew. which in turn means that i lost my whole order. the order in which i bought the records and put them up on the blog. for you, the reader, this don't mean shit, because you don't know the order anyway. but for my little obsessive mind this is hard to bear. hopefully i won't forget any record...

but now to the piece of vinyl at hand. it's the recently released 7" teaser for cruel hand's forthcoming output. usually i don't give a damn about these teaser releases where you can listen to some songs from the album, which i will get with the album anyway, and some exclusive song, which mostly is just a useless cover song. in this case the exclusive one isn't a cover song, but to pay €5,50 for one song is still tosh. this time my curiousity outweighed all the aforementioned talk.

the two songs are quite a new direction for cruel hand. a little bit more catchy all in all. i really like it and look forward to the upcoming stuff. listen to the title song and dance like an idiot to it in your room! just the way i did. what can't be left unmentioned is the more than stupid cover art. what the hell is this about? on the other hand, that biohazard 'tales from the hard side' vest on the back is brilliant! 1000 copies made in total. 300 on black/white swirl and 700 on my white vinyl. triple-b record. 2013.

ebay picks: cruel hand + cataract

cruel hand - without a pulse
since i'm a big fan of their sophomore release "prying eyes" i was looking out for their other stuff. "without a pulse" crossed my way on ebay while i was looking for a blacklisted lp. blacklisted didn't show up but i was happy to get my hands on this. i know that there is a orange/splatter vinyl press but it seems pretty hard to get, so i'm content with the yellow one. good hardcore-punk with more punk this time.
6131 records. solid yellow vinyl. 700 made.

cataract - martyr's melodies 7"
i think it's their first release on lifeforce records. a warm up release before "great days of vengeance" came out. i really love the three songs on this as i love all cataract stuff up to "kingdom". straight euro hardcore-metal at it's best :)
nice green vinyl!

per koro records: 50 lions, cruel hand, terror, by night

after searching without success for a german mail order having "powerwolves - you won't find peace" coloured lp in stock (always the black version only) i discovered per koro mailorder. lucky punsh, so to speak :)

it's a really well sorted e-shop with good prices. after the shut down of greed records, i was happy to find a more than equally good replacement. so, this is the first but surely not the last order at per koro...

50 lions - where life expires

it appears that this is one of my favourite hardcore records! just check them out. they deserve it!

loveley bottle clear vinyl with multi-colour splatter + big fold out poster with all lyrics + digital download.

six feet under records.

cruel hand - prying eyes

passionate hardcore in the vein of terror, madball, etc.

2nd press on awesome clear orange with teal swirl vinyl! With digital download on bridge9 records.

terror - one with the underdogs

classic! if you don't already have it, go get it!

clear green vinyl on trustkill records.

terror - rhythm amongst the chaos 7"

like always with terror you get quality! all killers, no fillers :) wonderful thick gatefold sleeve + black with white swirl vinyl!

last one of this order: by night - a new shape of desperation

it's hard to describe their sound. kind of industrial metal with hardcore tunes... or something like that. definitely unique! i already bought this album on cd back when it came out in 2006. i found it on clearance at per koro, it is coloured and so i picked it up.

this one is the ugliest presentation i encountered by far! ugly cover colours (the original cd artwork is different & way better), ugly inside artwork which only consists of blurry live pictures and not-matching vinyl colour. ugly through and through. but in a way that it's almost good :) ok, almost...

good music though and a gatefold sleeve.
