psycroptic really stepped up their already great game with "divine council". more diverse, tight song-writing and epic melodies conclude in their best record to date in my humble opinion. the pressing looks really nice although the white in the splatter mix obviously doesn't come through against a snow background. prosthetic records. 2022.

got this og pressing for a good price locally. as a type o fanboy i am really happy to have this in the collection and get a better understanding of peter steele's musical upbringing. hillarious stuff which reminds me heaps of the first type o records, although it's actually the other way around. roadrunner records. 1985.

behemoth - opvs contra natvram

boy, what a rager right here. the band's last album "i loved you at your darkest" lacked longevity but this one got me right back on the band wagon. everything i love about behemoth and more. the visual presentation is outstanding again. white/gold split out of 650 copies. nuclear blast. 2022.

intronaut - the direction of last things

another crucial intronaut re-press for me. had the chance to score a mint/black splatter copy in the past but missed it like a fool. thankfully svart records came to my rescue. although i don't really understand the choice of vinyl colours here. looks lovely nonetheless. opaque purple vinyl out of 999 copies. originally released by century media in 2015. svart records. 2022.

intronaut - habitual levitations

i am missing quite a few intronaut full lengths and so i am always on the lookout for 2nd hand copies but the right item never came my way. i was really surprised when i came across this new pressing from "habitual levitations". how did i miss this? svart records got the liscence for a re-press and i was happy to snag one up! clear green vinyl out of 999 copies. originally released by century media in 2013. svart records. 2022.

the contortionist - language

the contortionist vinyl re-issues? count me the fuck in! very happy about this and the way it turned out. this is widely considered their magnus opus. well, they have a point. goodfight records/eone heavy. 2014/2022.

gojira - l'enfant sauvage (45rpm pressing)

i sold my white copy of "l'enfant sauvage" for big bucks and thus was in need for a replacement. thankfully roadrunner came around the corner with a new orange pressing cut at 45rpm. win win situation, they say. my second disc has mixed up centre labels, otherwise everything is just fine. sound is awesome. roadrunner records. 2012/2021.

kittie - oracle (back friday rsd pressing)

after i acquired the rsd '22 pressing of the band's debut "spit" this summer, i hoped for a vinyl pressing of the follow-up "oracle". i played this album a lot when it was released in 2001 and always thought that it was their best album. listening to it again after many years it only solidified that impression. boy, "mouthful of poison" is such a rager! nice pressing with some black smudges throughout the vinyl. 3.000 copies pressed. mnrk heavy. 2022.

type o negative - dead again (nuclear blast pressing)

a super slick re-press for the swansong album of type o negative. looks and sounds great. quite pricey, though. anyway, was still worth it. 2.500 copies pressed on this green/mint green merge with black splatter variant. nuclear blast. 2022.

the contortionist - clairvoyant

in 2017 the contortionist took one step further into a way more proggy direction with their overall sound. i really dig that. "clairvoyant" is such a diverse prog metal album. it's been five years now - i could use a new album, right? goodfight records/eone heavy. 2017/2022.

ion dissonance - breathing is irrelevant

a first press for an album from way back is always a nice treat, especially when it's about an ion dissonance release. it took over half a year longer to finally be shipped due to pressing plant issues, but it was well worth the wait. oceanic motion variant limited to 500 copies. originally released by willowtip in 2003. vinyl edition by total dissonance worship. 2022.

arkaik - labyrinth of hungry ghosts

five years after "nemethia", arkaik are finally back with a new slab of quality tech death. they moved from unique leader records to the artisan era which resulted in a scarce availability for us europeans. bought this for big bucks through amazon which was fine by me. with shipping from the states it would have been the same price but i was able to avoid the painful long shipping process.

suicide silence - the cleansing (ultimate edition)

already have a century media first pressing of this deathcore classic but the re-master and the bonus disc with unreleased and live bits convinced me. 300 copies made. century media. 2007/2022.

botch - we are the romans

finally a re-press of this mathcore classic from 1999! as you see, i have two versions. the one on the left was part of the first batch. my copy comes with two a/b sides and so the evilgreed.net made up for this mispress by giving me a second batch copy for free. 741 copies of the black/blue mix vinyl and 1.000 copies of the silver/blue mix vinyl pressed. sargent house records. 2022.

dog eat dog - all boro kings

a milestone of the crossover genre and some kind of proto nu metal, if you will. great album! re-pressing on clear yellow vinyl. originally released in 1994. metalville records. 2022.

billybio - leaders and liars

another energetic slab of hardcore from the biohazard mastermind billy graziadei. love all of his work and this sophomore solo album is no different. clear red vinyl. afm records. 2022.

great osdm by these german death dealers. their second album and another winner in my book. orange marble variant out of 100 copies. testimony records. 2022.

inanimate existence - the masquerade

very happy to have been able to buy this from a european source to avoid those damn shipping costs and risks from the states. found this to my surprise on amazon germany. least limited colour-way but frankly i don't give a shit. great tech death record of a band that really developed into their own kind of monster. ritual variant limited to 450 copies. the artisan era. 2022.

obituary - inked in blood

long overdue re-pressing of this great comeback record of florida's finest - obituary. first record for relapse and what a belter it is. cloudy red vinyl out of 2.603 copies. relapse records. 2014/22.

replicant - malignant reality

dissonant space-themed death metal from the states. that one needs repeated listens, but pays off eventually. 100 copies on this merge variant. transcending obscurity records. 2021.

kreator - endorama

re-issue of the band's last album from their weird nineties era. i love those albums, "renewal" and "outcast" in particular. to be honest "endorama" falls a bit flat in comparison, though. still worth it. red with gold marble looks suspiciously just like plain red vinyl, if you ask me. but what do i know? 200 copies made. afm records. 1999/2022.

undeath & devoid of thought - sentient autolysis/cosmic apotosis

definitely here for the undeath part. i am not really a fan of their full length efforts (of which i sold my vinyl copies by now) but this split is the shit - at least undeath's part. nice presentation by fucking kill records. 108 copies made. 2019/2021.

the dillinger escape plan - under the running board

after i bought the re-press of the mike patton e.p. a few posts back, i definitely wanted this e.p. too, as it was on my want list for way too long. found this nice merge copy still sitting at a german shop (scr metal) for retail price. 1250 copies made. relapse records. 1998/2016.

deftones - around the fur

took me way too long to get a copy of my favourite deftones album on vinyl. nothing fancy, though. black vinyl copy i bought on a flea market. maverick records. 1997/20??.

analepsy - quiescence

extreme death metal from portugal right here. the opener and single "locus of dawning" promised a bit more than the whole album can keep up with but it is still a very enjoyable listen. 200 copies on this clear with green/blue splatter variant. agonia records. 2022.

decapitated - cancer culture

solid new offering by poland's decapitated. death metal with a modern take but without sounding too hipster-ish. like it a lot. gold with black splatter vinyl. nuclear blast. 2022.

earth crisis - vegan for the animals

metallic hardcore and earth crisis are terms i use synonymously. this e.p. is another proof why. earth crisis does what earth crisis does, and they do it better than the rest. give me more! earth crisis and holy mountain printing. 2022.

the dillinger escape plan with mike patton - irony is a dead scene

tdep together with mike patton were not from this earth! this e.p. is the wildest trip the band ever took, well, and that has got to mean something, right? very happy about this re-issue on orange/yellow galaxy vinyl. epitaph records. 2002/2022.

red fang - whales and leeches

thanks to relapse and their perpetual re-press policy, i finally am abel to add this album to the collection. not as strong as their other records but still crucial. best stoner metal band out there? maybe... relapse records. 2013/2021.

sick of it all - call to arms

my favourite hardcore band! i struggled with those fat wreck releases for a long time and still do. this is the first out of three full lengths i got a colour vinyl copy of. "call to arms" was released in 1999 and sounds as relevant as always in 2022. one down, two to go ("yours truly" and "life on the ropes" namely). fat wreck chords. 1999/2022.

first fragment - gloire éternelle

i am on the hunt for a vinyl copy of first fragment's debut "dasein" since a couple of years but never lucked out. in the meantime these canadians came up with a new record called "gloire éternelle" and of course i was first in line to get a goddamn copy. dazzling tech death that still needs a bit polish to make it unmistakably their own. the vinyl colour way is the shit! 500 copies made. unique leader records. 2022.

meshuggah - immutable

i can hang with every album of any of their creative periods and "immutable" is surely no different. "nothing" will probably forever be my favourite but this one is a banger start to finish as well. hope to catch them live again at some point because their live shows are breathtaking. 500 copies on this yellow marble double vinyl. atomic fire records. 2022.

nile - festivals of atonement

nile is one of my favourite bands, so i couldn't pass up this very first vinyl stand alone release of their first mini album from 1995. although a bit different in approach and definitely more raw, "festivals of atonement" is death metal brilliancy already. 700 copies of this green/yellow galaxy vinyl made. hells headbangers. 2022.

artificial brain - s/t

another masterpiece in a line full of masterpieces. this band is special, an oddity and without a doubt the underground's best kept secret. don't know if they will ever step outside of their very own proggy death metal niche but maybe they shouldn't... blue colour mix with green splatter vinyl. profound lore records. 2022.

amon amarth - the great heathen army

i skipped the last album "berserker" but the single for the new album was pretty good and so was their surprise appearance at wacken open air. so i took a shot on "the great heathen army". quite a belter right here. love those marble vinyl records metal blade presses for their releases. 2022.
