i loved the band's first two releases "fury and the fallen ones" and "returners" and still have cd copies of them but i lost interest in tgi after "get what you give". i even sold my clear blue vinyl copy of it back in 2012. anyway, after the involvement in a tragic car accident causing the death of the bus driver and the loss of a leg of drummer andrew tkaczyk in 2015, the band returned with this self-titled effort last year. to me a return to from. 300 copies on white/blue splatter vinyl as an emp exclusive. epitaph records.

when i ordered the band's debut full length "realms of eternal decay" from the fine guys at grindpromotion records, i simply couldn't say no to their first e.p. "diabolus vobiscum" from 2015. this stuff is a bit stoner doomier but really good as well. released on dark purple through melotov records. satan be with you...

boy, did i miss out on outer heaven! i didn't realise that i needed them in my life in the first place, thinking this was just another overhyped osdm act on the map. well, i was wrong. the hype is well deserved and i am happy that relapse did this lovely re-press out of 237 copies. originally released in 2018.

cauldron - last words: screamed from behind god's muzzle

cauldron is an english metalcore band hailing from birmingham and this e.p. is my first encounter with them. heavy, breakdown laden mosh core that brings a smile to my face with each breakdown setting in. pretty dope looking vinyl, called "starburst reverie" and limited to 150 copies (second press). released on the coming strife records in 2020.

wormed - exodromos

i am really fascinated by these spanish tech death monsters. whereas "krigshu" couldn't convince me in its entirety, the predecessor "exodromos" is really brilliant all the way through. a dark, cold and abyssal trip through outer tech death space - "exodromos" is all this. 2015 blue marbled pressing of this 2013 release, limited to 200 copies. willowtip records.
